Jews, and German Catholics. Bill was the oldest of three children. During Bill’ early years he traveled to Europe to study and practice with some of the best artists of the time. Upon his return to the United States, he worked as a freelance artist developing cover illustration for magazines. In 1942 he was called to service in the U.s. Army Air Force, where he was enlisted at the rank of private and discharged several years later as an officer. Following Bill’s military service, he returned to creating and developing illustrations for various men’s magazines. From the 1960’s forward, he produced a series of illustrations and paintings that were Christian themed. Many of his religious pieces are still re-produced today. Bill married Kathleen Alder in Rye, NY on October 13, 1963. Bill and Kathleen called Rye home for 39 years. William Luberoff died on March 7, 2002 at the age of 91.
